D'Ralier Fleet
Main article: D'Ralier ShipsHouse D'Ralier has a substantial fleet; hundreds of ships, hundreds of thousands of men at arms and millions of crewmen. The fleet is composed of three battle groups, each organised around a ancient battleship. Each of these groups have around ten cruisers, fifty to sixty frigates and usually over a hundred support and logistics vessels to support lengthy operations in uncharted space.
The banner of the warrant holder, Jacques D'Ralier, is currently aboard the Retribution-class battleship '
Invictus' - command-ship of the D'Ralier Fleet Primaris, who's role is primarily exporation and diplomacy.
D'Ralier Fleet Secundus does not split it's role so, and focuses on initial survey and exploration of uncharted regions. Sometimes absent for tens of years, Fleet Secundus is commanded by the massively competent Marie D'Ralier - first in line to the Warrant of Trade. She is known for a flair which sometimes bucks against the stoic D'Ralier mentality - but never yet to her detriment.
D'Ralier Fleet Tertius is an internal security force, moving from operation to operation to re-enforce or protect D'Ralier resources. Fleet Tertius has a large compliment of war-focused craft. Fleet Tertuis is commanded by Admiral Edwin D'Ralier - a dedicated, but bastard scion of the house with no direct claim to the warrant. Edwin has worked hard to raise from Ensign to Admiral in a remarkably short time - though some eyebrows were raised the the numerous deaths and retirements of the officers he replaced.
D'Ralier Mentality
The D'Ralier dynasty has changed the nature of extra-imperial exploration and attempted to dramatically increase the stereotype of rogue traders being wild mavericks. By pushing the Adeptus Administorium for more autonomy for fleets owned and operated by, but not crewed by, the family warrant holder, D'Ralier has been able to expand and explore the Calixis Sector with a frightening speed - and the families current view towards the Kronus Expanse appears to be set for a similar blitzkreig mentality.
