Saint Varnae's Hand is a customised hand cannon owned by Jak Xanatov. Over his twenty years of service aboard a Navy cruiser, he repeatedly pestered the tech-priests to improve on it; after he became an officer he had some success, too.
Saint Varnae's Hand is a model based on the
Saint Varnae's Wrath boarding pistol. However, it contains a number of highly advanced technologies that make it unsuitable for use as a melee weapon, unlike its more robust ancestor.
With an integrated MIU interface, the weapon overlays a targeting reticule on the wielder's vision wherever it points. Although the cylinder holds five rounds, the grip and barrel house an advanced microforge capable of storing and remanufacturing up to ten more rounds on command (counts as ammo selector); in order to provide the energy for the micromanufactorum to quickly replace the bullets, the wielder usually must snap the cylinder out and back in with a flick of the wrist, and then give the cylinder a vigorous spin.
The weapon's action has been perfected and the weight and grip exactly adjusted to suit Jak's hands (best-Craftsmanship, Customised), and it includes an integral Red-dot sight.
Just before Jak and Cornelius were left on the Oligarchy of Revenge, Adam took the pistol and added a mastercrafted mechanism which allowed the weapon to spin its cylinder far faster than any normal revolver without losing accuracy, and mag-impellors which more than doubled the exit velocity of fired rounds.
